In my opinion, Qi also gets constipated too!
We eat, digest, and eliminate mostly everyday. :) I’m always amazed by our poops because it is not only our food waist, but also they used be a part of our body or bacterias in intestines. We are so used to flush them in the toilet, but our elimination is a part of the cycle of the life. It goes back to the Earth for the next creation. The process of digestion really reminds us that we are part of the bigger life cycle. This process of “taking in," “digesting,” and “eliminating” can apply to the energy/qi too.
Have you ever wanted to punch the wall when you study too much or work too much?
I call this “Informational Qi constipation.” It has been one of my passions to explore this topic, and I’d like to share what I have learned so far in order to have smooth flow of qi!
1. Taking in information
When we are full, we don’t eat anymore, do we? So my strategy stays the same here. No more food for thoughts. Close the PC, phone, or books, and turn off the TV. It's sometimes not easy to do but really simple.:)
Also, I think we can choose which information to take in. It’s like we have allergy to some food, we have allergy to some information. When I touch the information that is healthy for my body, I often feel ease, inspiration, or excitement. In contrast, when I encounter the information that is not aligned with my qi, I get irritated or depressed. After exploring what is harmonious for own system (like what you like to eat,) we might be able to develop some filters for information.
2. Digestion
For me, the best solution for digesting information is rest and sleep, like when our stomaches are full. I also believe meditation is supportive for this process. There are many amazing guided meditations in the world, and I highly recommend to find a one that suit you! If I don't have time to take a rest, I take a bath or often go to my favorite forests or parks to get helped from the nature. Nature is the master of the healthy qi flow, and being inside of nature, our qi naturally starts flowing well.
3. Elimination
As much we taken in, we need to poop them out! I believe this process is also called "creation" like our elimination goes back to the nature for other lives. I personally like to sing, draw, write, or talk to other people. The outputs are unique by person. The ideas or art coming out from me/you/them in the unique forms may help other people, and warm someone’s heart up in an unexpected ways. It is a very exciting thing to explore the unique ways of own expressions.:)
When it is difficult to find a right output, I recommend to let them out from the body via writing, talking to other people, or shouting it out. In this way, the qi can move out from our system, and flow will be restored.
Those are the points I found so far, and I hope my points make sense.:)
Qi likes to keep flowing. We all have some tendencies to the flow of qi; dislike taking in, too much information, hard to digest, process takes time, hard to out put, or don't know how to output etc… That’s why it’s very helpful to know the own tendencies and find ways to have the healthy flow of qi.:) When we all freely express our qi, the world will be filled with art, and I am dreaming of that!
